Training is an important aspect of attracting and retaining a wide variety of people that, in turn, ensures the ongoing success of our organisation.
Pilbara Iron is a large recruiter of apprentices and trainees we employ and train a significant number of graduates in our three-year graduate program.

Building capacity in the community to provide an on-going pool of skills is also a training priority for us. As an example we provide "Workready" programs to assist the Aboriginal community in preparing for employment and training within Pilbara Iron and other businesses in the region.
We also have a partnership with Tom Price Senior High School to maximise opportunities for Pilbara youth and help them find the right pathway to achieve their education and career goals (see our Pilbara Pathways Partnership pdf for more information).
Internally, we offer professional development in the form of regular performance reviews and performance-based pay increases.
A range of training is available to employees, and selected individuals are offered places on Pilbara Iron development programs.
Study assistance is also available for approved employees and includes payment of accredited course fees and associated expenses.
Our training department is an accredited training organisation, meaning our in-house programs contribute to recognisable and transferable credentials, ranging from Certificate 1 through to Advanced Diplomas.
We train people in programs designed by industry, so we know that employees have the best practice skills and that they are competent to perform the tasks required.
